"Aloha, everyone. Let me show you my newest creation — Kalei Momi, which means Pearl Garland.

I start with one piece of 20-gauge gold-filled wire, and I shape this whole frame by hand. No mold, no machine — just me and my pliers.

Then I drape two garlands from it: a delicate gold-filled chain, and a swag of bluish-gray keshi pearls, every single pearl wrapped by hand. Keshi pearls form with no nucleus, so nature shapes each one herself. That blue-gray glow is real.
